About Sheala

As an intercultural writer, educator, and coach my passion is to develop internationals who want to grow and make a difference in their communities. I enjoy developing cross-cultural friendships and meeting the felt needs of immigrants in the U.S. I also love to work with people who seek God’s purposes for their lives and enjoy learning! My driving force comes from these two sacred texts:

“Don’t mistreat any foreigners who live in your land. Instead, treat them as well as you treat citizens and love them as much as you love yourself” (Leviticus 19:33,34).

“You are like light for the whole world. A city built on top of a hill cannot be hidden, and no one would light a lamp and put it under a clay pot. A lamp is placed on a lampstand so it can give light to everyone in the house. Make your light shine, so that others will see the good you do and will praise your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:14-16).

For leisure, I garden, walk, and relax with my family and friends. I love traveling and am an avid reader! I enjoy mysteries, sci-fi, and fantasy–adult, youth, and juvenile. I also enjoy Christian theology and most things related to the faith of other people.

My umbrella organization is Interface Ministries (iFACE), a nonprofit Christian organization which networks international students and scholars with culturally sensitive Americans who enjoy intercultural friendships and the open exchange of ideas.
